“My dad would get pissed at me when I would buy the expensive dishwasher tablets. He said the Walmart Great Value ones were only $3 a pack, instead of $10 for the good ones. I pointed out that they didn’t clean the dishes, and the dishwasher needed multiple runs to get everything clean. He wasn’t saving $7, he was wasting $3 on useless crap.” —u/Wolfcastle84 “Absolutely yes. I bought a pair of Doc Martens seven years ago for a food service job and they look new still after years of that job and being on my feet daily. And they haven’t broken down internally either. Once a year I’ll buy a new pair of shoes that is an investment. Docs, Keens, Birks, Sorels, and I just bought my first pair of Merrell sandals. They’re all in as good of shape as when I bought them (except for the Birks, my puppy ate those).” —u/GlassPanda12
“Laptop for sure. I use one every day and I used to buy cheap ones for $500 and under. I even bought a cheap notebook for $250. Then I bought a $2,000 laptop and it was more than worth that price.” —u/Vexivero “Getting a cordless vacuum has changed my life. I have a high shedding dog too and pulling out the vacuum, messing with the cord/outlet situation is no longer an issue so I don’t hesitate to vacuum as much!” —u/theonetimeitslupus
